Terms of Service
Last updated October 11, 2026
These terms cover your Opfield account at account.opfield.dev, buying and renewing license keys, the license server your installations talk to, and managed cloud, where we run an installation for you. Opfield is operated by Alexandr Slavinschii, Republic of Moldova ("we", "us"). By creating an account or buying a key you agree to these terms.
01The software and these terms
Opfield is self-hosted software. You run it on your own servers, and we do not host your data, servers or workloads, unless you buy managed cloud: then we run an Opfield installation for you on our servers (see Managed cloud).
Using the software itself is governed by its license: the PolyForm Perimeter License 1.0.1 for every installation, and the Paid Key Terms for the features a paid key unlocks. Both ship with the software. These terms add the rules for your account, payments and keys, and do not replace those licenses.
02Your account
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a passkey. You can add an authenticator app as a second factor. Keep your email account and devices secure: anyone who can sign in can buy, renew and manage keys on your account.
One account belongs to one person or organization. Give us an email address you control and keep it current: we send renewal reminders, receipts and notices about your keys there.
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live.
03Plans and keys
- Community is free and needs no key: every installation gets a Community license when it first contacts the license server. It covers up to 25 servers and 3 users.
- Personal and Business are prepaid for 1 to 12 months at a time. Each key covers one installation at a time.
- Enterprise is sold under a separate written agreement.
- Managed cloud is an add-on to a paid key (see Managed cloud). It is not available with Community.
Plan prices and what each plan includes are listed on opfield.dev/pricing. Changes to prices apply from your next invoice, never to a period you already paid for.
A key may not be shared, resold or used on more than one installation at a time. You can move a key to another installation by deactivating it on the old one, or, if the old server is gone, by activating it on the new one after an hour.
04Payments and renewals
Payments are made in cryptocurrency through invoise.me, our payment provider. An invoice states the amount, token and network; only that token on that network pays it. Send the exact amount before the invoice expires: an underpaid invoice stays open for the rest, and an overpayment is not returned automatically. Write to us about an overpayment and we will look at it case by case.
Crypto payments do not renew on their own. A key runs until the end of its paid period; renewing it is a new invoice. We email you before a key expires. A key with managed cloud is renewed together with its cloud installation: the renewal invoice includes both.
Prepaid periods are not refunded, except where the law requires a refund.
05Founder pricing
Early customers can buy one Personal or Business key per account at a reduced founder price. The founder price belongs to that key, not to the account, and stays for as long as the key is renewed. A key that is not renewed before its grace period ends loses the founder price for good.
While the founder program is open, the founder price follows the key when you change its plan, at the founder price of the new plan. When the program closes, which we announce on opfield.dev and by email at least 30 days ahead, the founder price stays on the plan the key has at that moment. Changing the plan after that moves the key to the regular price of the new plan.
We may close the founder program earlier for new purchases, and may change founder prices with at least 30 days of notice by email.
06When a key expires
When a paid period ends, paid features keep working for a grace period: 24 hours on Personal, 72 hours on Business, 7 days on Enterprise. After that nothing that runs stops: services you already configured keep running, but creating or changing paid resources is blocked until you renew.
A plan change to a lower plan takes effect when the current paid period ends.
07Offline allowance and its abuse
An installation checks its license with the license server every 15 to 30 minutes. If it cannot reach us, it keeps its plan for up to 100 days. This allowance exists for network outages and isolated maintenance windows. It is not part of the paid period and does not extend it.
Keeping an installation away from the license server so that paid features keep working after the paid period has ended is abuse of the offline allowance. When we find it, we suspend the account immediately and revoke every key on it, with no grace period and no refund of any payment, including time already paid for on other keys.
Signs we treat as abuse include:
- an installation that stops contacting the license server around the end of its paid period and returns after it;
- blocking, redirecting or imitating the license server, or interfering with license checks in any other way;
- changing an installation's clock or restoring old snapshots to make an expired key look valid;
- the same pattern repeating across keys or accounts.
A real outage is not abuse. If an installation was offline for a reason you can explain, tell us at [email protected] before or when it comes back.
08Suspension and revocation
Besides abuse of the offline allowance, we may suspend an account or revoke keys for payment fraud, a reversed or disputed payment, sharing or reselling keys, interfering with license validation, or another serious breach of these terms or the software license.
A suspended account cannot sign in, buy or renew. Keys revoked for a breach lose paid features immediately, without a grace period. Unless the reason is abuse or fraud, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
Everything your installations run stays yours. A revoked key moves an installation to Community; it does not delete your data or configuration.
09Managed cloud
With managed cloud we run an Opfield installation for you on a virtual machine on our servers. You use and administer Opfield in it as you would on your own server; we run the machine under it, keep it backed up and keep it reachable.
- Managed cloud is sold only together with a paid key (Personal, Business or Enterprise), one cloud installation per key. It does not work with Community: we are not a hosting company, and the cloud is not sold on its own.
- You buy it with a new key at checkout, or add it to an active paid key. Added to an existing key, it is charged up to that key's paid-until date, for at least one month. From then on it renews together with its key, at the plan price listed on opfield.dev/pricing.
- Plans differ in CPU, memory, disk, backups kept and log retention, as listed on opfield.dev/pricing. CPU is shared with other installations on the same server. Moving to a larger plan applies at once and is charged for the rest of the paid period; moving to a smaller plan applies when the paid period ends.
- New installations are created while we have room in the region. When a plan is out of stock, we say so before you pay.
Backups. Each installation is backed up once a day; we keep the newest backups up to your plan's number, and a backup you make yourself counts toward it. You can restore an installation from any kept backup. Backups protect against losing the machine, not against every mistake: keep your own copies of data you cannot afford to lose.
Availability. We work to keep installations running and reachable, but managed cloud comes without an uptime guarantee or service level agreement. When a server of ours has a problem, your installation's page says so and changes to it wait until it is fixed.
Your content and acceptable use. What you put into your installation is yours, and you are responsible for it and for how the installation is used. Do not use it to send spam, attack or scan other systems, spread malware, mine cryptocurrency, or host anything illegal. We may stop or suspend an installation that does, or that endangers our servers or other customers, and tell you why unless the law or an ongoing attack prevents it.
Our access. As the operator of the machine we can technically reach it. We do not look at the data in your installation except to keep the service running, to fix a problem you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
When the key expires, the installation keeps running, but changes to it (reboot, reinstall, backups, restores, plan changes) wait until the key is renewed. Deleting it still works.
Deleting. You can delete a cloud installation at any time. The virtual machine is removed at once; only its newest backup is kept, for 3 days on Standard and 7 days on Extended, and you can bring the installation back from it during that time. After that the backup is deleted for good. Deleting does not refund the paid period.
Revoking the key, for any reason in these terms, deletes its cloud installation the same way.
10No warranty, limited liability
As far as the law allows, the software, the account portal, the license server and managed cloud are provided as is, without warranty. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that affect you materially we email you at least 30 days before they apply. The date at the top shows the current version.
12Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova. Disputes go to the courts of the Republic of Moldova, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
